Why do I want to upgrade my theater to Atmos? Why the hell not?! This is why my room is currently 7.2 instead of 5.1.
As Dr. Hammond said, "Why build one when you can build two for twice the price?"
Thanks,
Greg
Hi gang. I'm in the final stages of creating my new basement theater and I'm starting to consider treating the first reflection points. (I've attached a photo where I've pencil-circled the areas in question.) Here's the thing. WAF is very important to me and my wife loves the room so far. You...
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but check out my blog at E-GEAR.com where I've got some photos of the new 2-disc Collector's Edition DVD! http://www.e-gear.com/story/story.bs...1962&var=story
I live in CT so tax is 6%. That means the DVD has to be under $18.79 for it to be a no-brainer for me. ;) I typically like to buy at Target where I could often get new release SE's for anywhere between 15.99-17.99. Gone are those days, or so it would seem....
I think the psychological aspect of all this is rather funny. For me, I can totally justify whipping out a $20 bill for a new DVD. Impulse or planned purchase - at my local B&M. Maybe I get change (great!) and maybe it's JUST enough. But $20 is my mental breakpoint for a new (single film) DVD...
Just wanted to light this thread up again because this practice is certainly becoming the norm. Reading over this thread made me realize just how long this has been going on and it's only getting worse - Batman Begins, Harry Potter 4, Narnia, Walk the Line, Lord of War, Jarhead, the list goes...
CES started today in Vegas folks. Apparently Universal has announced Serenity will be one of its ten initial HD-DVD titles, avaliable in March. Kickass!
Add me to the growing list of people who love Firefly/Serenity. My wife and I loved Firefly when we saw it on TV and we were lucky enough to catch two advance screenings of Serenity. The movie is fantastic and I bought 4 extra copies of the DVD to give as Christmas presents. :) That being...
Add me to the list of those wary of Fox and their notorious double dip tactics. I saw Mr and Mrs Smith in the theaters and LOVED it. But I just KNOW they're gonna give this one the royal treatment... eventually. I seem to remember the trailers showing a scene with Mrs Smith firing a Gatling-type...
Looks like there's a new edition of The Transporter coming to DVD on Aug 30. The new specs seem to include, most notably, a DTS soundtrack. I might finally break down and pick this one up since Transporter 2 looks like it might be some crazy fun stuff. Here's the cover art Amazon has up...
:) i was thinking about that after i posted. i guess i meant "more out there" (vampires, demons, and some of Jennifer Garner's outfits on ALIAS) Sports Night is certainly light and funny but also has some great drama. Scrap my post. Lump them all under the heading, "Great Shows." How's that? :-)
Whenever anyone asks me for quality TV recommendations, I fall back on my Big Three: Firefly - probably my favorite series ever. Film version entitled "Serenity" coming to the big screen this Sept. Sports Night - Aaron Sorkin dramedy that, at times, features sharper dialogue than his work...
