I built my own as well, I've been very pleased, cost about 20 dollars to make a 5 foot cable (bought rca's, solder, wire) out of Cat-5, it has been done before, time to make more though. -Greer
David (nice to see a fellow Hokie)...I'm pleased with my SR-700, and at the price difference, I am glad I stepped up for the extra features, as for the "power ratings" the owners manual says 80 watts a channel with 2 driven....read the manual as it is more correct than the website (and the...
I've been very pleased with my 700 as of yet. I have not cranked it as I feel the power is plenty loud for my current setup (no sub yet...I'm building my HT this summer). Anyhow, the onkyo user manual lists the power as 100 watts with 2 channels driven at 8ohms....while the website says 100x6...

So really they...

Matt, I'm currently fighting the same issue. I'm looking at the Wega 27", the JVC i-Art 27" and the Toshiba 32A41. Right now I think the Toshiba is going to win out for features and size, that and the picture is very nice on it, unfortunately, I haven't been able to see a dvd on the 32a41, but...

if budget isn't the option, I'd say go with the 700 as it has preamps for everything if you ever want to upgrade, plus some other toys (upgraded remote I believe, dual room terminal upgrade, etc)
