Films you feel could use a Director's or extended cut

"The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" - much was shot and then cut including two Dolly Parton songs. The scenes were closer to the Broadway version and made the film a bit more serious. But being from Universal this will never happen.

My Fair Lady 50th Anniversary Edition (Blu-ray) Available for Preorder

Some of Audrey's rehearsal vocals do sound better than what was released on the DVD esp "Loverly". Audrey filmed "Loverly" to her own track - so there was a master track used for this song. It may be lost or it may still exist. Marni Nixon also says that Audrey filmed more of the score with...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Hello, Dolly! -- in Blu-ray

I attended the 70MM screening of the film at the Billy Wilder theater in LA last month. The print was beautiful - it didn't have the blown out whites of the blu-ray and the sky was blue. Some of you should have gone - it was quite an experience and you would know what you're missing Now...

MY FAIR LADY 4K restoration completed! Dec. 9th release announced (Post #299)

When dubbing is done right the audience should be unaware it's not the actors voice. The singer doesn't have to have a pretty voice but must be able to fool the audience. Mark Lester's voice was dubbed in "Oliver" as was Peter O'Toole in "Man of La Mancha" and the audience thought they were...

MY FAIR LADY 4K restoration completed! Dec. 9th release announced (Post #299)

It can be done, and you did it for the laserdisc and that was before digital editing.much has advanced since then. I've made poor singers sound fine in the recording studio after they left for the day. Audrey can not hit every high note but some more of her voice could be used as an alternate...

MY FAIR LADY 4K restoration completed! Dec. 9th release announced (Post #299)

Have you heard the raw tracks? The vocals on the laser disc/DVD/Blu-ray weren't true. They were edited to match her mouth and she sounds awful. "Show Me" was a real problem. Her raw tracks to "Loverly" are lovely and she is fine with much of "I Could Have Danced All Night" and " Without You"...

MY FAIR LADY 4K restoration completed! Dec. 9th release announced (Post #299)

I work in the recording industry and we are able to fix a singer voice. It's not just pitch that can be fixed with Auto Tune. There are other ways - fixing the lenght of notes and the tonal quality. A lot of Hepburn's singing is fine. The higher notes would require work and maybe some dubbing...

MY FAIR LADY 4K restoration completed! Dec. 9th release announced (Post #299)

I hope someone can restore Audrey Hepburn's singing voice. The laserdisc gave you the option to hear the film with Audrey singing or Marni Nixon. Many of Audrey's vocals can be heard on the web and with some digital help from Auto Tune she would sound fine. Audrey's voice was charming, though...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ Hello, Dolly! -- in Blu-ray

You can’t even have an adult discussion on this forum. Few have pointed out some concerns and they may or may not be legitimate, but instead of trying to address reasons for those concerns some on this forum have regressed back to elementary school playground level of name calling and I’m right...

    Hello Dolly (1969)

Pay no attention? what kind of an attitude is that? Remember when FOX screwed up "Patton"? they fixed it later on, many said it was a great transfer originally than changed their minds Some people will buy anything regardless of quality

    Hello Dolly (1969)

The more i watch it the more I can see something is off, don't know if it's the contrast or the fact the whiter colors are too bright in relation to all else. Plus the color seems to have a bluish tint (very slight) not the way it was in the theater left side of his collar off from rest of...

    Hello Dolly (1969)

The transfer seems to have a little bit too much contrast which appears to make some scenes look washed out in lighter colors. you can even see it in some of the screen shots over at blu-ray.com on the DVD there is detail in the lace which appears grayer, and her face is flesh colored, here it...
