I will second that...One of the best overall performing matched systems for Home theater around! Very, neutral, and natural sounding... NEVER harsh even at VERY loud volumes. Being that the matching pedestal stands are included... very nice! And NO I dont work for Atlantic Tech! Glenn

Michael is correct... you can use external amplification for the (5) channels and the onboard amps for the (2) back surround channels! I have personally done this on my 3801 and no problems! Enjoy! Glenn

Hi Joseph, I have what I feel is an even better more flexible solution! Look for the now discontinued Marantz MA-700 200 watt per channel monoblock amps... they are absolutely terrific! Do some searches and you will see what I mean... check out the reviews! I had utilized (7) of these...
