    Overhead "Envelop" Channel?

Questions about the Paradigm Studio 100's being non shielded...

I have a 34" direct view set, and I sit only 6' away from it. Because of space limitations my speakers are about 1.5' from the TV on either side, but this gives pretty good sound separation - being only 7' from the speakers. I thought this was borderline too close to the TV to have...

What's the cheapest decent projector for a newbie?

Check out the "Plus Home Piano HE-3100". Do a google search and you will find a bunch of reviews. It is $3000. It's not HDTV capable, but is supposed to be great for DVDs. It sounds like the comb filter on the composite input isn't great, but the line doubler is top notch. No zoom, but it...

    Paradigm Monitor 11

I'd also recommend stepping up to the Studio series. The Studio 60s aren't a whole lot more, and they are available with magnetic shielding so you don't have to worry about how close they are to the TV (this is what I have). If you don't want to spend that much then save even more and drop...

Does anyone have an Anthem MCA 20/30/50 amp?

I have an MCA-30. They cost quite a bit more than the old series amps. The MCA-3 was $900, the MCA-30 was $1200. They are about 2" taller, but that allows much larger heatsinks. This amp stays nice and cool. I'm using Paradigm Studio Reference speakers and it sounds great.

Bass control for Paradigm Servo 15

I run my Servo-15 directly off the subwoofer output on my Onkyo reciever. It works fine. The reciever does all the bass management (80Hz crossover, large in front, the rest small). The distance setting in the reciever can be used instead of the phase adjustment on the X-30, and between the...

B&W 600 Series vs Paradigm Reference Series?

I thought the B&W 600 series were dull sounding compared to the Paradigms. I did like the B&W CDM NT series, but the B&W dealer and the Paradigm dealer are an hour apart so I couldn't do a real side by side test. I bought the Paradigm Studio Series (which were quite a bit cheaper).

DD EX & DTS ES upgrade

Here's another interesting paper: Link Removed It's on Pardigm's web site as a way to sell dipole surround speakers. It makes a compelling argument in favor of dipole surrounds in a 5.1 system. But after you read the paper think about what happens when you go to 6.1 sound, it blows his...

DD EX & DTS ES upgrade

I have to two speakers on the ceiling so the tweeters are over either end of the couch. I had a single speaker before and I like this better, the effect is less obvious - it works but it is less distracting. One speaker in back and one overhead is a new idea, I suppose you could try it, but...

Need opinions on surround speaker placement

I have one surround that is also very close. I have it pointed almost straight back so the sound hits the back wall and bounces around. If I point it right at me it is distracting. It's about 2 feet above ear level and I wouldn't want it any lower.
