So the 42H83 has the same dimensions as the 42H82? Not good....I was afraid of that. It won't fit in my space. Thanks John. PS Anybody know when the new Hitachi's are coming out?
Adam....I know how you feel. I get the heebie jeebies everytime my wife picks up the remote. I was reading on another forum how people were complaining how the 4:3 Sony's do an automatic squeeze when 16:9 material is brought in through the component inputs. Specifically, they were saying that...
Adam, The Sony's do the auto "squeeze" for 16:9 material. But I think you have to set it yourself on the Toshibas. It seems like I read somewhere that this was one of the benefits of the Toshiba (if you consider it a benefit), that you can turn on/turn off 16:9 compression if you want. Of...
Josh....I was talking about the Toshiba 36 incher (36hf72 or 36hfx72). I was trying to decide between the Panny 36hx41 and the Toshiba 36hf72. Of course the Toshiba is about $500 more (currently $1700 at BB this week). Andy, what kind of signal are you running through your CT36hx41 (analog...
Jack....I heard that the ID-1 Detection feature on the 36hx41 is a 16:9 squeeze. Of course, I can't confirm this. And I heard this feature was not on the 36hx42 model. I just want to know if this set (the 41) does 16:9 squeeze like the 36" Sony's and Toshiba's do. I gotta have the squeeze!! :D
Josh....I think CC's deal was for the CT36HX41, not the 42. But I'm also interested in this TV (the 41). I've heard that the 42 doesn't do the 16:9 squeeze on DVD material. Some say that the 41 model does do the squeeze, while others say it doesn't. Anybody care to provide facts? Frank
Onecall has listings for a 34hf83 and a 36hf73. Anybody know anything about these? Like will the 36" have DVI? I couldn't find any info on the Toshiba website. 34hf83 36hf73 I'm thinking about getting the 36hf72, which doesn't have DVI. I would hate to get it and then have a new...
The xp30 is very similar, although it doesn't have DVD-A. Finding a rp82 is like finding a needle in a haystack now, unless you want to pay mucho $$$. The xp30 got high marks on the DVD Shootout. Do a Froogle search, you should be able to find it for less than $199.
I've been thinking about getting this player (the S35). Do you think a non-videophile would be able to tell a major difference between it and the RP-62?
TimHON.....just curious, what store was giving a price of $1500 for the 36HF72 that you got BB to price match? I'm about to buy this set myself, and would LOVE to have the price match ace in my hole. I was told that BB doesn't price match internet stores. I also have a Tweeters in the area if...
