I use a 35' HDMI cable to connect my receiver to the projector without any apparent signal loss. Having the receiver in another room will sure give you some very long speaker wire runs and if you have a remote requiring line of sight you may have challenges.
Yes I tried that. The reset firmware is the same number as the 'latest' download firmware. It only limits me to not having the web features which really are of no use on the second player. All discs and files play fine. The only setting I really use is the DSD Auto feature which is the one I...
Hi. Back at you from Wasaga Beach. The M45.R.0052 is only for the X800M2 but thanks anyway. I have the latest update M36.R.0338 for my X800. The unit will not allow me to overwrite it with the same version. I guess I'm pooched. Sony Support is shut down due to Corona. Cheers for your feedback.
Good day eh fellow Canuck.
Jim are you familiar with the UBP-X800 set up ? I have two. One works perfectly, the other right out of the box will not retain any of the set up configurations. It seems to reboot to the factory defaults each time it is turned on.

I'm finally learning the lyrics to The Hollies 'Long Cool Woman'. Great tune. I must have heard it hundreds of times over the years but I never new what Allan Clarke was singing.
They are Dalfred bar stools from Ikea. They are uncomfortable as hell to sit on, but they are very stable.
The adjustable seat feature make fine tuning the speaker height and toe in very easy if necessary.
Impressive. Very creative use of materials. Cool theme idea. I think you are having fun ! I look forward to more pictures as you progress.
I can appreciate how much work went into the 'door' to your secret room.
I have no idea if it adds to bass response, but I used a Dricore insulated subfloor. It does make a basement floor a lot warmer for less than $2 a square foot.
I have always set the receiver crossover settings to 10Hz above the speakers lowest frequency rating (or roll off as some call it), To me there isn't much point in having a low end capable speaker if you are going to clip its frequency range.
You might want to check out the Audio Technica ATH-M50x. I have used them for over a year for Home Theater night time listening and I am very happy with the clarity and full bass they provide. Well under $200.
The sub and LPF settings should be good. I have my speaker crossover settings lower at 50Hz as I listen to quite a lot of multichannel music on SA-CD and DVD-Audio. For movies John's suggestion of 100Hz is fine given the speakers you have. If you wish to have more localized sound for anything...
That you may want to experiment with that. I would say leave it at the default of 120. I am not a pro. I think it is designed to prevent doubling up on the lower frequency outputs between the main, surround and the subwoofer. I am sure there are reams of chatter on the net about it.
