    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

Andy, just wanted to drop a quick "thanks" for the daily reminders on the Raintree County Facebook group about the TCM broadcast. I've been meaning to watch Raintree County on FilmStruck as I intended to do so long ago, but never found the time. Since it'll be leaving the streaming platform...

    RAINTREE COUNTY on Blu?

I have FilmStruck, but don't use it as often as I'd like (especially since I only ever stream it on my laptop or my bedroom television). Did a quick spot-check on Raintree here and there, but will try to watch the whole film either this or next weekend depending on my free time. I'm hoping...

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954) ….coming from WAC

I've been following the Release Raintree County on Blu-Ray/DVD page for years thanks to your continuing efforts to spread the word about it. So hopefully it's in the pipeline at Warner Archive, especially given that the FilmStruck streaming version looks good, but I'm sure a Blu-Ray would look...

Sure Hope Disney's THE BLACK CAULDRON will arrive this year...

I'd prefer if they actually put some effort into the set and gave us this: The theatrical version of the film An extended version of the film that re-instates all the finished animation, provided they still exist in the archives scenes (such as this one, which someone reconstructed online)...

    Movies only you could love

Supergirl I had very vague memories of the film as a child, so I naturally was drawn to it when I found out it had a two-disc DVD (back in... 2000?) It wasn't until 2006 that I finally owned it (and for $65 to boot), and damn. It's terrible. Sometimes, I don't know if I love it in spite of...

Bedknobs and Broomsticks blu-ray on August 12

The back cover for Pete's Dragon also lists it as 89 minutes, so there's that, too. If they were just offering the extended footage as supplements, I would assume they'd be HD, similar to how "If I Never Knew You" in Pocahontas was presented in HD on the Blu-Ray, but not as a branching option...

Bedknobs and Broomsticks blu-ray on August 12

How long does it run? The 2001 DVD for Bedknobs runs a little over 20 minutes, but the 2009 DVD cuts it down to 11, with the aforementioned cuts being all of Scott MacQueen's talk about the restoration. I wish Disney had released the full 25th Anniversary special on this Blu-Ray, especially as...

    Would you?

Not gonna lie, when I saw just the thread title, this came in my head: He holds her in his arms. Would you? Would you? He tells her of her charms. Would you? Would you? They met as you and I, And they were only friends. But before the story ends... He'll kiss her with a sigh. Would you...

Bedknobs and Broomsticks blu-ray on August 12

Same here. My siblings and I would imitate that scene all the time. We also were masters at "Step in Time" from Mary Poppins and the whole "cleaning the cottage" sequence in Sleeping Beauty.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks blu-ray on August 12

Yeah, it's discussed in the "Music Magic" featurette (which as you said was chopped on the 2009 release). It's still amazing to see just how far they could get the image to look when compared to what they were working with.

Blu-ray Review The Rodgers and Hammerstein Collection Blu-ray Review

A friend of mine showed me a comparison video for The King and I, between a 2005 HD transfer and the Blu-Ray. Not only was it different (as Matt pointed out), but apparently the Blu-Ray is slightly cropped, too. :( I'll wait out for single releases (maybe in Target digibooks?) and buy them...

Studio Contact Listing for Getting Titles Released on Blu. Can we start one?

Hmm... maybe I should talk about Disney more often. I've written to their Home Entertainment division several times in the past, used to write reviews for UltimateDisney.com and maintained a weekly Disney column for three years on another website. Certainly wouldn't mind if Disney was keeping...

Studio Contact Listing for Getting Titles Released on Blu. Can we start one?

If it's Disney, you'd want to contact Lori MacPherson. She's in charge of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, and would be the one to ask for particular titles on Blu-Ray rather than Iger. But given the studio's treatment of their library since Blu-Ray's debut, it's apparent that they...

WHV Press Release: The Wizard of Oz 75th Anniversary (Blu-ray 3D)(Blu-ray)(DVD)

You're only a sucker if you have both box sets in addition to the 2005 Collector's Edition, the 1999 Gift Set, the 1997 "Ultimate Oz" laserdisc, the 1989 50th Anniversary VHS, and the 1988 Criterion Collection laserdisc.

Any idea what's on that fourth disc? I think it might be new to the collection.
