This is sad, indeed. I sold my original 5 sets on E-bay after hearing of these sets. I love the original Twilight Zone. I hope I can find these sets at a good price. I think they should go for about $60.00 per season. If they are more I will have a hard time picking them up as I'm not rich...
WillG, That is not entirely true. The enhanced starfields do not appear on the theatrical cut of the film. I agree with you that one should hold on to the 20th anniversary dvd mainly for the isolated score. It is a must have imho. --Edward
Nice to hear the dvd has such good picture and sound. I can only imagine what the D-Theater version is going to look and sound like with its 1080i picture and 1.5 Mbps DTS track. Cant wait. --Edward
I picked mine up at the Best Buy store in Irving, Tx. There were about 12 copies on the shelf and they all seem to have the bonus disc included. I paid $77 and some change as I had them price match a Fry's add that i had. My copy is nice accept for the fact that the adhesive they used to secure...
My copy should be here tomorrow. I will post my findings. That said, I have always thought the Columbia House transfers were quite nice. Having these same elements sans the limitations of the vhs format is just what the doctor ordered as far as I am concerned. Later.
Jonathan,
Go for it. I used to own the set and think it is kind of cool to have. If you collect Star Wars "stuff" get this set. I like to collect 'ALIEN' memorabilia and get everything I can to satisfy my craving. For example I own an original super-8 film copy w/sound. It has around 8 minutes...
I agree that a better LD player will help, however I can attest to using an external line doubler/scaler to improve the picture quality. I have my cld-919 hooked up via s-vhs to a CENTERSTAGE CS-HD. The scaler spits out the signal component to my Toshiba rptv. I am very pleased with the picture...
The original Outer Limits holds a very special place from my childhood memories. I remember watching it on my little 9" black & white tv anytime it was on. I think the price that is being asked for both season 1 and 2 is very reasonable. --Edward
Hi Joe, Congratulations on your purchase. I am selling dvd's on e-bay so that I can get a D-VHS deck too. From what I have read Fast And The Furious, X-Men and U-571 are all 5-star choices for Picture and sound quality. Bestprices.com offers the cheapest prices that I have been able to...
