Once Upon a Time in Mexico Details (including OAR discussion, past and present)

Geoff_D, I believe that the director altered the AR with "The Recruit", so it wouldn't be precedent setting if it also happened here. Also, IMDB entry for OUATIM doesn't indicate any difference in the AR for the UK (or any other country for that matter).

Once Upon a Time in Mexico Details (including OAR discussion, past and present)

Is this going to be a direct digital-to-digital transfer, or film-to-digital? For those unaware, Rodriguez shot the movie with HD cams.

    Animatrix Discussion

Here's an interesting article on Matriculated . It's mostly synopsis with a short analysis at the end. In light of that link, the ending would seem to say that the machine is grieving since it prefers the human "anti-matrix" construct, but its of no use since there are no humans left alive...

    Alias - 11/02/03 - The Nemesis

Must've been a little nipply, er, nippy in the park that day. "You've got the brains and I've got the looks?"

Most of DirecTV channels in HD starting Jan. '04???

Where did you see that "regular" channels would be in HD? There was a line in the flash introduction that they'd have 39 HD channels by Feb. 2004, but I didn't notice anything that listed which channels those would be. The only way that "regular" channels could be viewed in HD is if they are...

Most of DirecTV channels in HD starting Jan. '04???

It can't be true since most of the DirecTV lineup isn't produced in HD. I'd suggest looking here for a listing of what channels are/will soon be available in HD. Edited to add that in my experience, DirecTV customer service reps are very ill informed (or, in the worst case, knowingly...

HD-DVD forum rejects Toshiba/NEC Blue Laser format

Someone over at AVSforum mentioned that Sony is working on increasing the durability of the disc coating so that the caddy won't be necessary. Edited to say that I agree with Marc. I would prefer a caddy for the reasons he cited, plus the protection they'd give to rented discs.

Netflix and Superbit / DTS version discs

According to the AP story, that was the test period. They just started up five additional distribution centers, so that might help with the delay.

Netflix and Superbit / DTS version discs

Wal-mart just started its competition rental service, and apparently they do stock DTS and Superbit versions. I think today's their first day of operations, so they'll probably be adding back-titles in short order. Edited to add that it looks like they're also stocking Criterion editions...

    24 season 2 marathon?

You're right, I messed up "greater than" symbol. To be clear, it takes more than 14 hours to reach the area I mentioned. I'm pretty sure it was the show's producer that talked about that plot point for season 3. I'll try to find the source when I wake up.

    24 season 2 marathon?

Scooter, I really doubt that Season 3 is going to be the very next day. It came out a while ago that Jack is going to be on a mission in some Mideast country. It takes
