My Name Is Earl: Complete Series on Blu?

I'm afraid they were likely burning them off because they were sitting on a huge pile of them. It just didn't sell.

Master Tapes of "EARTH 2" at a Pawnshop in WI??

Not just likely, the original post flat out stated there is no music: "no sound effects or music throughout, REALLY REALLY GOOD AUDIO for 16 year old vhs"

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

It hasn't shown to matter. The casual viewers just outnumber the hardcore fans by so much. People don't buy subsequent seasons for a number of reasons: They bought the first and realized they didn't like the show as much as they remembered. The blind bought the first season and didn't like...

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

The 80s series? Those half seasons were 33 episodes on six DVD9s. And they had an MSRP that was 2/3rd of the similar half seasons of Thundercats. They sold through the roof and were also the biggest money makers in the history of BCI, so I think they were probably priced right.

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

It actually hasn't been ignored, its that the studios and retailers want nothing to do with it at this time. The general public is still fuzzy on what exactly Blu-Ray is. So right now, everyone wants to market it as HD video and sound. If they start using it as am mass storage device for SD...

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

This is dead on. There are a ton of reasons we aren't seeing a lot of TV on Blu-Ray: The show was shot on a format that is not possible to transfer to HD - like video tape. (Lots of 70s and 80s comedies and dramas, cartoons like GI Joe, Transformers, etc). The show's effects were all created in...

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

It would be wonderful if they did that, but you have to look at it realistically. If a single 22 episode season is expensive to produce, multiply that by however many seasons make up the complete series. It can easily be over 100 episodes. So that means an upfront fee of clearing music for...

Why are so many series stalled or stopped?

You really have to look at it from the studio's perspective as well. A series that doesn't sell well doesn't always mean the studio makes LESS money from it, it can actually mean the studio LOSES money on it. Its expensive to put out a series. Music licensing, other legal clearances, tracking...

Finally!!! Rockford Files - The Movies Collection; Coming November 3rd

You are correct. The image used is from the correct era for these movies. James Garner was 66 years old when the first movie in this set was made. To use a younger picture of him would be totally misleading. That is by no means a current image of Mr. Garner.

The Simpsons S20 Coming to DVD

I'm sure that's exactly what they'll do. release one set in the summer and one in the winter. The reason they are releasing Season 20 now is because its the first HD season and they really want to get Blu-Ray product out there. But they won't slow down the older series because they are still...

When 'Glee' hits DVD- how much is it going to cost

Its still going to be a 13 episode set - its just going to be a "Season 1 - Volume 1" set instead of a "Complete First Season". I know a lot of people hate split seasons, but it isn't a bad idea. First, the cost of 22 episodes would make this show price prohibitive for a number of people -...

    OMG! Werewolf: The Series

I'm going with that. Its like the "technology" that lets them take a tiny, fuzzy, partially obscured frame from a security camera and blow it up, enhance all the details and extrapolate the missing pieces to get a perfect image of the perp.

    What's next for BCI?

We tried everything we could to get him to OK the use of episodes with fur. We offered to put an intro on the discs where Bob could explain his views. We offered to donate a portion of the sales to a charity of Bob's choice (and let him use that in the opening as a way of making amends for past...
