yeah, geocities is wierd like that...here's what you do 1)right-click on the link 2)choose "copy shortcut" from the menu 3)paste the URL in the address bar of your browser and then load up the page
thanks for the replies fellas :emoji_thumbsup: I took a look at the link as well. I was only concerned about the rear-center surround speaker, as the Left/Right surrounds are on the side walls. If I do in fact opt for a 6.1 setup, I'll be doing some speaker placement/position experimenting for...
do you or any of your friends have a boombox that can be battery powered? If so, you can just buy a cassette adapter and use it in the boombox. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ARZgYV2....asp?I=142PCA1 I've done this before, mind you the cassete "door" won't shut all the way because of the wire...
If I were to purchase a 6.1 receiver, how effective would the rear speaker be if I were to place near the floor directly behind my couch, and have the speaker firing upwards toward the ceiling? Right now the couch is against the back wall but I can move it forward about a foot. That's not enough...
B&W LM1 I don't remember who, but one member here has them mounted upside down on the ceiling. It's got a swivel base, so it's positioning is fairly flexible.
coincidently, with your budget Axiom would've been my first choice...and Dahlquist comes a close second for me. If you've got a good price from Audioshop, go for the Dahlquist.

David, if this is your first venture into 5.1 and $200 is all you have, then I believe you will be very happy with you your money spent on this package. Although I can't say anything else about that RCA package, it should do the job for your small room just fine.
Ron, just tell him that those little Bose cubes are for wimps, and he needs to get these "manly" cubes http://www.calcube.com/ambiance.htm seriously though, for the $1k budget, I always recommend the small Axiom packages http://www.axiomaudio.com/products.html
cool...I'll eventually get around to taking the backpack apart and mounting the shaker unit under my chair. I actually got this as a gift a few years ago and just stored it away, and just recently found it again while cleaning out the storage room :D my post wasn't intended to be an "alternate"...
I have the Aura Interactor. It's basically a bass shaker mounted inside a strap on backpack, and was marketed towards game console users a few years back. http://www.oshealtd.com/interact.htm You can take the backpack apart and pull out the "shaker" unit but I haven't done that yet. I just...
