Bob, I have the elite 1140(50") model. This is a great TV! IMHO, the elites do one of the best jobs at sd. The colors pop out at you. You have a ton of tweakibility as well. I compare the 1140 to the 55" Hitachi and the picture in the elite was significantly better.
