That's a pretty hard drop to break the Styrofoam. I think if you don't see exterior damage it's a good start. The receiver doesn't really have moving parts like a hard drive. But slamming the unit can move parts internally. Do a quick test and crank if up really loud and see if you hear any...
Depends on the length of wire that you need. If it's under 12 feet, 12ga will probably be okay. Just make sure it's pure copper. It would also depend on how many watts you are running.
I'm upgrading my 5.1 system to a 7.1 system but since my couch is against a wall I am adding 2 ceiling speakers for my 2 additional speakers. Any suggestions for which brand? I am deciding between:
