Not an error? Fine, so maybe Warner doesn't think this movie is worthy of a restoration...despite the fact that many people on this thread and elsewhere seem to find it the most interesting, anticipated movie in the boxset. But, fine, let's say you're right and Warner considers The Naked Spur...
I've been worried about edited content in the Canadian version too, since Warner's done that before. What kind of manufacturing problem? My local Future Shop told me that they received copies of Animaniacs a week ago, but were told to hold onto them, and not put them on shelves 'til August...
Sorry to see that nobody else seems to care Warner's not including *all* the trailers for these films, or giving the boxset a similar treatment to their Gangster/Tough Guys collections - with new featurettes and commentaries for each movie. Don't classic musicals, especially those starring...
Damn shame. I'm still waiting for my boxset to arrive in the mail. I almost wish I could cancel it...but...still love Jimmy Stewart. And what are the odds WB will re-do The Naked Spur? But if they do, I'll buy it again, being the sucker I am. I'm glad to see that once in awhile, even one of...
I watched The V.I.P.'s on TCM to see what the fuss was over Taylor & Burton as a screen team. And I've concluded that they were well-matched. If you want to watch 2 blocks of wood. :P Seriously...non-emotive, stiff acting from both of them. I enjoyed the movie overall though - luckily there were...
I feel for you, Andy. It's funny, TCM is trying to target the youth market, yet this Warner boxset-exclusive thing only alienates younger collectors who are on a budget. And older collectors on a budget. ;) I mean, the boxsets are pretty affordably priced, but they're only a good deal if you...
Okay...in that case, I'll replace it with the promised 2-disc special edition of An American In Paris. This is fun! Imagine actually having the job of choosing titles for Warner boxsets... how do I apply for that position? ;)
I'm with you Corey...I'd buy every single one of those! Might as well post a few of my wants here as well, in case Warner's reading. GENE KELLY: Thousands Cheer (Kathryn Grayson, Mary Astor, Judy Garland, Red Skelton, etc, etc) Living In A Big Way (Marie McDonald, Charles Winninger...
Yay! 3 boxsets I can pass up! My wallet sobs with relief. :) I feel sorry for you folks who want to buy individual titles and can't... I do believe Warner's trying to force people to pay extra for the whole set... as with the Doris Day & Ginger Rogers fans having no other option but to buy...
Okay, my absolute ABSOLUTE favorite, My So-Called Life, gets a ... :D My other absolute favorites get the sad face.... :frowning: FAMILY TIES - where the *bleep* is it?! It's not often I love a *popular* *hit* show, and when I do, it's *still* not a definite DVD release? What the *bleepity...
Okay, all you HDNet-receiving people are making me soooo jealous! Quit it. :P I have a battered old previously-viewed VHS tape I found at a thrift store. I want a WIDESCREEN DVD of this movie, and I want it NOW! 'Cause DVDs are more "invincible", don'tyaknow. ;)
Thanks for confirming the quality! :) I ordered online, 'cause I couldn't find it in stores. I'm pretty much resigned to NEVER finding the DVDs I want on actual store shelves near me. They just don't stock the ones I'm interested in. (On the rare occasion they *do*, the price is better online...
I doubt I'll be able to get in the chat, but I hope *someone* asks about the movie... In the meantime I sure wish somebody who caught the TCM airing would share their thoughts!
Based on user reviews I've read, I ordered this version: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/630...?ie=UTF8&s=dvd I can't really *guarantee* it's the best, as I haven't bought all the other cheapie versions and compared them. But ROAN seem to have the best reputation in general. Does...
It *is* nice to see Warner releasing some B movies. I detest the snobbery of only focusing on Oscar winners or whatever. So many great films didn't win awards. And even if it isn't a great film, it can still be great fun. :) I hope this means Warner intend to release less "prestigious"...
