The farthest you've travelled to see a band?

I'd have to say St. Louis, MO to Big Cypress, FL to see Phish on NYE 99.

Anyone have a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner?

I bought a Dyson (the yellow one) a few weeks ago, and feel the need to jump in and point out that the Dyson system for emptying the canister results in little to no dust escaping. You can pull the trash bag up around the canister, and a small trigger at the top opens a trap door at the bottom...

Any reviews of the Flaming Lips DVD Audio?

Got it. Listened to it last night. Wow. Definatly the most creative surround mix i've heard yet. The booklet even points out interesting tidbits about each songs surround mix. It's also loaded with bonus videos and songs. Highly recommended to fans of the band, or fans of surround music.

    Lion King 1.5 DTS 2/10/04

This looks like it could be really good. If you figure that Lion King is based (loosely) on Hamlet, this sounds like disney's answer to "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead" I'm looking forward to it.

Any reviews of the Flaming Lips DVD Audio?

According to most sources, it's been pushed back to Sept 23. However, from what i've heard it's a very very agressive surround mix.

Can you help me name this song?

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty? First thing that popped into my head from your description. The Foo Fighters did a great cover of it a few years back.

    Flaming Lips LIVE

They're great live. And not only do they put on a good show musically, but also an amazing performace visually. They're very fun. I wont spoil any of it for you, but they put on a very creative and high energy stage show. If you like their albums, particularly Yoshimi and Soft Bulletin, I cant...

    R.e.m. Aftp Dvd-a

Picked up yesterday at BBuy. Gave it a quick listen last night. I was suprised looking at the case that the Hi-Rez tracks were only 48/22, but i guess that's due to the source recordings (dat?). Anyway, I thought it was great. Some nice surround effects, fairly active rear channels. There were a...

    New Phish Album

You can also download a really good quality MP3 of Pebbles and Marbles off Trey Anastasio's solo band website in the Audio/Video section. I'm looking forward to hearing Phish play it.. It's much more a Phish sounding song than a Trey Band song.

What are some careers that let me carry a breifcase and wear a suit and tie?

I've seen several articles lately about the return to business formal from business casual, and how productivity is better with suits, and how casual work wear can only hurt your company. The funny thing about all of them is they ALL are based on studies done by the Mens Business Apparel...

What to do in St. Louis?

For German cuisine, the two main holdouts that are still around (we used to have LOTS of german eateries in south city) are Schneithorst's or the Bevo Mill. The Bevo Mill is in South City and is inside a giant windmill. good food, great atmosphere, but you'll want to call first to confirm hours...
