Chuck, You are correct that the movie was pristine other then that, and that was truly cool to see. However I had just come from a pristine film version the day before so with the exception of the reel change dots it was a clean picture.
As time goes on the DLP version is obviously going...
Thanks Marc and Gabriel for the comments. I agree with both of your comments, and my thoughts about questioning FP for the home was out of frustration for the theater screening of the movie. I would bet that they did not change the screen or use a high enough bulb...
However, with that...
I also just got back from watching Star Wars EpII at the DLP theater in Vally View Ohio, I was VERY disappointed. The picture was very dark and hard to see in low light scenes, also the blacks were not true.
I saw the film version on Thursday and was MUCH more impressed with the film...
Just so you know, by selling (or buying) items made with another companys trademarks you would first have to be licensed to do the work. If not then the items would be illegal. By creating some work for home use, that in my opinion is a different story and by supplying that work free of charge...
If I am not mistaken you can gain about 3-6 db by loading the sub in the corner. however, based on the room design you may create some dead zones. I know in my situation I have some and even at the prime seats, but I have the wife factor to contend with and the fact that she allows 2 SVS subs...
This question is one that can best be answered by Tom Vodhanel of SVS. They sell a little known subwoofer that is reported to make a dog ill. :)
I spoke to Tom quite a few times prior to making a sub purchase and he was VERY helpful. I ended up buying 2 SVS CS 20-39's and have absolutely no...
Did I mention I think it is great David Prior hangs out with us? Thanks for the info David! I will have to pick up a copy of the DC version when it becomes available.
As for Michael Bays decision... Well, he has the right, it is his movie after all. However, IMHO I could understand an...
Wow, thank goodness I don't have the option for DTS (no hardware for it, just DD) or that would have made me upset even more!
Yeah, I agree why wasn't the movie placed on one disc per sound format. That would have been convenient and user friendly. But I am only the user... :)
I do think it...
Who thought of the smart idea to put a forced menu when you place the second disc in the player?? It is bad enough I have to swap discs but when you place the 2nd disc in, the MENU takes 15 seconds to complete the animation BEFORE you can select play to continue with the movie!!! What...
I would recommend the Kenwood HTB-503. Look for the one with the active subwoofer. I have a couple of friends that wanted to get into HT for a little money and I think that is one of the easiest ways to go.
I cannot say it compares with my setup of Paradigm Monitor's all around but it is...
Heh, welcome to the joys of building a house! I am in finishing stage on mine and I also debated about running wire in wall but the Sub contractor my builder uses only runs 16/2 as well for $85 a run!
I need to go into the wiring business, what a racket that is... anyway, to answer your...
Perfect! Thank you, that did the trick. I should have that information in about 5 days.
Now I am looking forward to ordering my SVS woofs, I cannot wait for the puke effect.
Hehe.
As a side note, I cannot believe I have been in this forum for almost 2 years and only posted less then...
I have looked for this publication. Does anyone know how to order it? Owenscorning.com is not very helpful unless the section about sound is the same info from the mysterious publication.
Many have mentioned its benfits but none have mentioned how to obtain . . . Help!!
