Jeremy,
Thanks for the advice. I already know what they carry in my area and it is only ABC, NBC currently. PBS to come shortly and no idea on CBS, UPN or WB.
My question was of a technical nature. If this worked, then limited OTA via cable is better than no OTA via antenna.
Thanks for...
Jeremy,
Thanks for the response. I just was trying to confirm if Comcast was sending the OTA HD channels in either 8VSB or QAM. Whether it is 8VSB or QAM is insignificant. I have newer TV with both, so connecting it will give me just what I am looking for, the local HDTV channels. Remember my...
One option you may want to consider that I use is the Turtle Beach Audiotron. The Audiotron is a digital music player. You plug it into your network via cat5, (there are options to connect it wireless). Upon it has connections to your A/V receiver by either digital toslink (what I use) or RCA...
I was right with you and did not want to spend more than $600 for a speaker set, 5.1 including subwoofer. So I went to my local AV store, including goodguys and listend to what was in my price range. Oh yea, I read some reviews. I have a room similar size to yours so did not want overpowering...
Sorry if this is the incorrect forum, but did not see one where this clearly fit.
I read on another forum that HDTV signals are carried in the standard off air package that is about $9 a month, both analog NTSC and HD signals.
This is the quote from a forum member in Chicago area...
I myself bought a DA3ES about a month ago from Link Removed It was $595 plus $25 shipping. Shipping was less because I also bought some speakers. I was not interested in the detachable power cord or the rs232 port. Since the sound was going to be the same, I opted for the cheaper unit. Always...
After losing some sleep, I finally figured out how to make this work. Very confusing way of doing things. There is very slim chance you can get this correct from just reading the manual.
Settings were correct. Physical switch on front of Receiver set to "main + 2nd"
Setup per p 48 of...
Thought this might help.
This is a picture of the remote that came in the box with the DA3ES. Not the one in the manual as you can see.

Marc, I am experiencing the exact same problem as you. I just connected some outdoor patio speakers to my 2nd speaker outputs. I read your post that you could not get sound out of the speakers connected to the second room outputs. What exactly did you do to get it to work? I could not tell from...
We are going to have to sit closer, by moving the couch. There is NO way my wife is going to let me get a screen that big.
Any thoughts on how from center you can be off to the side and still see an HDTV screen?
Will that make a difference for a tube vs read projection?
Bryan
Marc,
Thanks for responding. If 2.5 is the max, what is the suggested lower end? So would you suggest a safe range for HDTV of 2 to 2.5 times the diagonal size as the viewing distance?
Any thoughts on the distance from the sides to be able to view?
Bryan
I know this is an old thread. I have been searching threads for a recommendaion on distance from a screen. I found this old thread. I have the same question. The only thing I found was this table from Crutchfield. This suggests a larger screen that we were considering. We have 12 1/2 feet to...
I just purchased AVIA. I want to test tuning my modest RCA surroung sound system before I start to upgrade my system piece by piece.
Anyway, in watching the DVD, they said how to hold the SPL at an angle pointing towards, the ceiling and facing the source of the sound. I searched threads with...
