I second the endorsement of Dimplex units. The flames are the most realistic I've seen. We installed a 52-inch Dimplex unit in our coffee shop, and during construction, the inspecting Fire Marshal asked if the flames were real and wanted to inspect the gas hookup. It puts out about 1500 watts...

Those numbers are indeed huge and mind boggling. But this isn't exactly incomprehensible, or even incalculable. We know the percentage of stars that are like our sun, and we can calculate the percentage of those stars that have planets exactly like Earth orbiting them the ideal distance away...

Well, it took (and continues to take) a lot of hard work, but my coffee shop now has a Five-Star rating on Yelp. ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED! (As they say.)

This is devastating news. There couldn't have been a more gracious or helpful person than Steve to help us navigate the DVD format when it was new. What a loss for the community. We'll miss you, Steve.

The rules of the road are there to keep you safe. When following them puts you in peril, then it's time to do something else.

I think if an autonomous car spots a clown by the side of the road, it should be programmed to take him out. It'd be better for all of us.
