Thanks for the replies. I read them just before leaving work and stopped by the store to check the player out. It looked mint and had the remote and the owner told me I could bring it back if it didn't work. I got the guy down to $90 and since this is the only player I've seen locally at a...
Can anybody tell me anything about this player aside from the info at:
http://www.laserdiscarchive.co.uk/la...r_cld-s201.htm
I assume it is 49 dB S/N for the video, can anyone confirm that? I'm having a heck of a time finding a laserdisc player locally. I found a CLD-D702 and a CLD-53 both...
I'm looking for a laserdisc player with digital audio out (need not have AC-3 RF out), 49-50 dB or higher S/N ratio, and 2 sided play. I'd prefer Pioneer but would consider clones or other quality players. Email me if you have a player that meets these criteria. I'm looking to stay under $150 at...
I'm still looking if anybody has a Pioneer as requested above (I have a lead on one, but haven't heard back from the seller so I'm not sure...)
Thanks,
Brian
Aside from the debate over whether or whether or not eBay us evil, does anybody have any other suggestions as to where I might find a LD player locally? I've tried all of the suggestions so far (high-end dealers, online classifieds, newspaper classifieds, pawn shops, thrift shops, flea markets...
Ralph, I'm assuming that's because most that you find on eBay, etc. don't have the original boxes, forcing the sellers to come up with their own packing method which is most likely inferior to the original box and custom molded styrofoam, etc. Brian
Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about Denon LD players? I found a used electronics shop that just got one in but it was packed away and the owner said in need of minor repair for the drawer mechanism (he offers a return period of a couple weeks so I guess if his repair is faulty, it...
Well, I just called the only Pioneer laserdisc service center in Cincinnati and they said that they rarely, if ever get used laserdisc players in for sale. So much for that possibility...
Hi all,
I've just purchased the Star Wars Laserdiscs from someone on the forums and now I just need a player. I'm thinking I want Pioneer and I definitely want to stay at or above a 50 dB S/N ratio with 2 sided play. Beyond that, I'm not picky.
Thanks,
Brian
I am wanting to buy a laserdisc player and am wondering what type of local places I can look in addition to the internet. I'm not fond of having one shipped (I have heard stories where the players didn't take to shipping very well regardless of packing - since it would not be the original box)...
I am looking for the '95 THX release of the trilogy. If anybody on this thread who mentioned wanting to sell it still has it, or if anybody else has it for sale, email me.
Thanks,
Brian
Thanks for the links. I will be doing some reading at lunch today! It seems backwards to be doing research to buy a laserdisc player after having had a DVD player for 5 years now! Oh well.....
Jeff,
Thanks for the info. Do you (or anyone else for that matter) know of any kind of database which lists Laserdisc players and their vital stats? It's kind of hard to dig up info on these things since they aren't made anymore!
Sunil,
I sent you a PM. I'm not interested in a trade but...
