Which toshiba is it. If it is one of thier HDTV sets you have 1 year in home and 2 year CRT warranty. Call your local service center and have them either fix or replace it. Don't bother sears with that B.S. they will just tell you to take it to the shop. I highly doubt that they will exchange...
I have the 32P903 from costco @ $899. One issue cropped up. With a 480i input from Composite, S-video, and Component there is a 4" thick brighter vertical stripe starting in the center of the screen and running right on the screen. Essentially the left half is darker than the right half...
I am presuming that you Set will not accept a 720p signal. And no you may not use PIP with the Component Inputs. My suggestion is to connect all of the outputs from the 5100 to your set. That means Component, S-video, Composite, and RF. Also route the cable through your Set and then into the...
Joshua, If you have a Costco near by you might want to look into the 32" Samsung 4:3 HDTV that I believe is around $900. It appears to be within your price range (you mentioned a Philips for $890). If the set ever gives you problems you will be able to return it for a full refund per Costco's...
Tim, The Horizontal Bow is fixable albeit it must go into a shop. The geometry is covered under the warranty so you will not get charged for the work. I plan on sending my 36hf12 in when I go on vacation in July.
Got a Costco near by? Check out the 36HF12 for $1499. It is the "warehouse" version of the 36HF72. The reason I recommend it is Costco's return policy. You may return your purchace to Costco at any time if you are in any way not 100% satisified with it. Essentially it takes place of the Service...
Got a Costco around? They have the 36HF12 ( the warehouse version of the 72 ) for $1499. Unfortunatly, Delivery is on your end, however you just can't beat their return policy. I have the 12 and am an extremely satisfied customer.
STB's will most likly have a setting to detect 4:3 programing and automatically compensate for the set it is outputting to. It is a feature consumers will demand.
I do not pretend to know, factually, the answers to your questions. However knowing the theory of 'puter games and such. the reason that the 720p setting looks so much better than the 480p is that the game is out putting a 1280x720 (720p) resolution as opposed to a 640x480 (480p) screen. To...
Yes, the Toshiba 36HFX72 was rated behind only the $5000 Loewe Aconda for best image quality by Sound and Vision (at least I think it was S&V) The 32" most likely will have the same performance IMO.
