Well, we're 3 quarters through the year (2007) and none of my wishes have come true.. ENCHANTED APRIL, SOME KIND OF HERO, and THE STERILE CUCKOO haven't been released. It's hard to keep faith. Maybe they're waiting on the out come of the HD/Blu-ray battle.
John, That was what I thought I was doing. Dang-me, I'll have to admit I made a mistake, or find someone to blame. Besides that, it appears to be already out there. Thanks for calling it to my attention. I need to add SONG OF THE SOUTH to the 2007 list.
I'd like to see the original pirate(Robert Newton as Long John Silver) saying "RaRaRRRRR" in TREASURY ISLAND (1950 with little Bobby Driscoll as Jim Hawkins)
n my 4+ years as a member, my wish list of movies under the Warner Brothers banner has began showing more movement of late. SERGEANT YORK, CROSSING DELANCEY, THE ILLUSTRATED MAN are recently, or soon to be, released. My list has dwindled from 10 or more to 4. Remaining “longed for” movies are...
In my 4+ years as a member, my wish list of movies from Paramount has hardly moved. They did come out with the musical version of SCROOGE (1970 with Albert Finney) But I’ve seen no movement on the other 3 movies: ENCHANTED APRIL (1992) SOME KIND OF HERO (1982) a classic for Richard Pryor...
Dreaming into 2007 * In the 4+ years as a member, my wish list of movies of the 20th Century Fox banner has dwindled from more that a dozen or more (as some were added along the way) to a mere 4. Like RafaelPires, I'm still waiting for : THE GUNFIGHTER (1950 with Gregory Peck). The other 3...
The oldie I'm looking from from Sony (I'm told they own it now) or Criterion (or who ever might own the rights to it) is: THE MAID (1991) Martin Sheen and Jacqueline Bissett A good re-digitized version, I'd buy in a New York minute. And I'm from the Seattle area.
Matthew, I can only give you ancedotal evidence. I came upon this website in Aug. of 2002. In the first couple of years, over 20 of my wish list titles have been released. It's been rather barren the last couple of years. From some of the other threads, you can find my lists of "still waiting...
I'm with Peter Fitzgerald, and second his vote for: THE FLIM-FLAM MAN (1967) & THE GUNFIGHTER (1950) I'm still waiting, too, for: VIVA ZAPATA (1952)with Marland Brando WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN, AND WHY IS HE SAYING THOSE AWFUL THINGS ABOUT ME (1971) with Dustin Hoffman
Here's my contribution to the "broken record" song. I've been waiting for years for my following list. A THOUSAND CLOWNS (1965) Jason Robards THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE (1959) Kirk Douglas, Burt Lancaster REVOLUTION (1985) Al Pachino THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER (1968) Alan Arkan CROSSING...
CBS/TV: in 1971 did a great production of FEAR ON TRIAL a "Black-list" era story of a Texas radio program host who's life/career was destroyed. Media Home Entertainment/Mercury Pictures: THE GREY FOX (1982) with Richard Fansworth WellSpring: BYE-BYE BRAZIL (1980) Malofilm...
Right now, I've got 3 wishes from Paramount. 1. I'm with Doug Irving on wanting ENCHANTED APRIL (1992) 2. I would like Richard Pryor's SOME KIND OF HERO (1982) and 3. I think Liza Minnelli's THE STERILE CUCKOO (1969) is worth having in my library.
Since August of 2002, I've been hoping Warners would release great digital versions of: SERGEANT YORK (1941) THE DEVIL'S DISCIPLE (1959) A THOUSAND CLOWNS (1965) THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER (1968) ILLUSTRATED MAN (1969) REVOLUTION (1985) and like John Kilduff, CROSSING DELANCEY...
Much like Peter Fitzgerald, I've been waiting since Aug 2002 for: THE FLIM-FLAM MAN (1967) and THE GUNFIGHTER (1950) as well as and assuming Fox owns this last one. WHO IS HARRY KELLERMAN AND WHY IS HE SAYING THOSE TERRIBLE THINGS ABOUT ME (1971) Can I add another one? VIVA ZAPATA...
I know that a version of HARRY & TONTO (aka on the list as HARRY AND TONTO) has been release just this month. I've purchased it as promised. Has there been any other releases from the list?
