Thanks! I was thinking it might not be much of a jump. It's close but I can deal till I can afford a bigger buget. how much further would be a good step up? price wise? Maybe I'll just keep my JBL TR 225's hooked up, not great clairity or quality of sound, but loud.

Hi, so I am running the Onkyo SKF-540F in 5.2 (decided to hook up my old powerd sub, just because) and the Onkyo TX-NR828. Sounds great but with music sometimes it feels "lacking". I'm thinking of upgrading the fronts but not sure if it's worth it. I haven't hooked up the other 2 surrounds but...

No, why? You mean to sing through the suround sound stuff? I wouldn't want to hook anything like that up to it, could really hurt it couldn't it? All the other frequincies and volume changes and feedback. The PA stuff is built tough to widthstan that abuse (well some of it) right? I jsut want to...

Oh also my flat screen only has 2 hdmi inputs and no sound out puts, plus I could cut down on remotes. I think I already said I have a pos 10+ year old walmart special suround, 2ins 1 out only rca and the built in dvd player crapped out years ago. which I am using but really needs to get junked.

What is a good reciever that would have a line out or I mean a pre amp out? How much should I save for speakers or reciever? I mean with $1000 (not set in stone) what is going to be the $$$? I did look and it looks like the Onkyo TX-NR828B would be a nice upgade but only if I don't have to send...

Ok. But the $1000 thing I meant speakers also. If I had about $400 to spend on speakers after about $600 on the reciever what would you recomend? I have an old set of walmart special philips suround sound 5.1 but want to upgrade. Ok I guess I need to jump to a speaker thread now huh?

Internet radio and cds via cable box, or computer or xbox. I don't have a stand alone cd player and xbox and computer only have hdmi.
