That flat wire is good stuff, esp if running under a rug. I have in the past been able to hide speaker wire under the skirting board next to the floor or laid even just at the interface.( L) Bazzle

I have had a similar issue. I went away when I swapped to a different brand of HDMI cable. Worth a shot if you have a spare or one on another piece of equipment. Bazzle

Im using an JBL LX series in a cabinet below Plasma. The opening is 5.5" but the speaker is 6" The cabinet has a lip at the top front that allowed me to slide speaker in at an angle with the shelf and sit just behind top lip. Bazzle

In my experience mounted behind the screen cuts the highs to much. You could place above and direct to the listening area or tell receiver NO centre and let fronts take over. Bazzle

My guess is the power supply transformer built into the powered sub. The hum from the laminations is amplified by the enclosure (tuned for freq around 50-60hz) When it warms slightly they close up and mech noise reduces. Ive heard it on a couple of subs. ie" wharfedale, B&W If it goes...
