All of sudden my Blu-Ray copy no longer works! I inherited my late brother's DVd/Blu-Ray collection and HIS copy doesn't play, either. Now that Oluiver seems to have gone out business, I'm left with 2 unwatchable Blu-Rays! (I have an Oppo Blu-Ray player).
AN INSPECTOR CALLS - Alastair Sim
THE WINSLOW BOY -Robert Donat
LAST HOLIDAY (please re-release it, but this time in Blu Ray) - Alec Guinness
NIGHT WORLD - Lew Ayers, Boris Karloff, Mae Clarke
KITTY - Paulette Goddard, Ray Milland
for starters
The story is actually good, but considering that both the Cotten and Bergman characters are Irish, the flat mid-Atlantic, slight Southern Cotton accent and Ingrid's Swedish accent doesn't really make total sense.
I keep looking for this to come out on Blu-Ray, and today, I called Kino and yes, the title was aquired by Kino/Lorber. Unfortunately, though not cancelled, it has been set aside for future release.
I'm a bit confused why they would announce it and then back off temporarily.
It's a great...
Hey guys;
I haven't posted for awhile, but my brother and I - both fans of the old "Amos & Andy" TV show were discussing if there is a 'best' DVD set out there. I know they're all quasi-legal, but does anyone know which set would have the best possible quality? many thanks
I agree.....quite nice quality and I don't think these old black and white cartoons would look that much better in Blu-ray. I'm so pleased. Next up? Hopefully a Daffy Duck marathon.
I got mine today (pressed discs, hurray!). I watched 6 cartoons on disc 1 and a few on disc 2. Excellent quality....no complaints other than I think Warners could've afforded to place a one sheet inside of the 5 disc set with a listing of contents. What's listed on the back cover is not good...
Hey guys. Is there any significant reason keeping "The Spiral Staircase" from being reissued on DVD from some company? The long out-of-print MGM DVD is going for big bucks and this great movie still has appeal for DVD buyers.
Any backstory?
