Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Any Plans For a Remaster?

I sure wish they'd distribute a high quality HD version of DS9. Besides watching the original Star Trek, DS9 was the only other franchise series I watched. Used to make sure I was always home on Saturday just to watch it.

almost there subwoofer pick to complete setup

Using an external amp is really not that confusing to use. You just use one RCA cable per channel to connect the pre out on the AVR to the corresponding input on the external amp. You will also need to run a trigger cable from the AVR to the amp so the amp will automatically power on/off when...

almost there subwoofer pick to complete setup

One thing to consider is do you have space for an AVR and an extra amp. The 6300 will give you all the amps you need in a single unit, but it's like $900 more. You can pick up a 2-channel amp for a lot less, of course you can buy one for a whole lot more too. Just depends on your budget. If...

almost there subwoofer pick to complete setup

Yes the Denon can run two subs and has the ability to set them up with its built-in Audyssey MultiEq XT32. As far as your sub choice goes, one $1k sub will give you better output than two $500 subs. Maybe today $1k is all you can spend but who's to say a year later you might be able get...

help with new open wall home theater for surround sound

To do 7.1.4 with the X4300H you'll need to add a 2-channel amp for the additional 2 speakers. You will be able to do 7.1.2 with the internal amps which might be all you'll need or want.

help with new open wall home theater for surround sound

I'd pull wire for a 7.x.4 setup. Wire is cheap and you will be ready to upgrade to Atmos when your budget allows. Since the S920W doesn't do Atmos you might want to consider the X1300W which is just a little bit more money.

1964, going to watch Goldfinger. That was the first movie I got to see on my own with a friend.

The 100 worst traffic jams in the US

I lived in Atlanta near the I-285/I-85 junction aka Spaghetti Junction. Rush hour ran from 6:30am-10:00am and 3:00pm-8:00pm through this interchange. Atlanta forces commercial truck traffic to use I-285 instead of traveling straight through Atlanta on I-75/I-85/I-20. All this concentrated...

    Buying a certified used car

There's quite a bit of wiggle room on used vehicles. Look up the trade-in value for the car you're looking for which will be about what the dealer paid for it before any additional expenses. You have to figure out if they actually took the vehicle in on trade, a direct-to-dealer lease turn in...

What do I need for Dolby Atmos and DTS X?

Yeah, it took me a while to get it squared away in my head too. And then there's variations of Atmos speaker configurations to add to the confusion. You can have front and/or rear height locations, which are placed on the wall as close to the ceiling as possible. A combination of one or two of...

What do I need for Dolby Atmos and DTS X?

If you look a little closer at the SR7010 description you'll see that this avr can actually process 11 channels with 9 channels handled by the internal amps and the two additional channels managed by an external amp. So in your case you could do 7.1.2 without an external amp.

What do I need for Dolby Atmos and DTS X?

You need to get a 9.1 AVR. Don't know how much you can spend, but you should look for a 2014/2015 model if your budget is tight. I'm thinking a Denon X5200 or X7200 would work for you.

    My in-laws system

I might be wrong, but those three connectors on the left look like what is used with a multi-room amp. If you look as some Russound amps their speaker wire connectors look similar. I believe the connectors on the amps are removable to ease the installation of the speaker wires.
