‘Avatar 2’ Renews Push for 3D Format in Movie Theaters

A 3D RealD conversion planned for September; If they make a 3D blu-ray, that will be awesome. Maybe it'll spark them to remaster JAWS 3 3D.

‘Avatar 2’ Renews Push for 3D Format in Movie Theaters

I wonder just how many different releases of this movie there are? It goes back to VHS days. Fifteen? Twenty?

Good Bye To The Warner Bros (Columbia) Ranch Burbank Ca

Relative to the museum idea: I just went to a little soiree and spoke with a twenty-something couple that stated they've never seen a black & white movie. They absolutely will not watch a movie in B&W. Ever. I would gather that mindset is much more the norm, than not. Nostalgia to them is a...

Good Bye To The Warner Bros (Columbia) Ranch Burbank Ca

The Bates House is safe. Its a rather important feature of the Universal Studios amusement park back lot tour. Still up on the hill. Though I think its only a front and side facade.

    3D I, THE JURY 3D (1953) at the TCM Film Festival 4/22/2022

I read on another site a very recent post from Bob that he enthusiasticly encourages everyone to support ClassicFlix. I feel as you, Malcolm and others. But I think we all might consider that maybe there's more at stake here in the sense that anytime a classic / golden era 3D film gets restored...

3D Blu-ray Review Treasure of the Four Crowns 3D Blu-ray Review

I was aware of the licensing arrangements which answers some questions, but also brings about a few more in this particular case. Correct me if I'm wrong: The original digital 3D blu-ray release of The Mad Magician (Vincent Price) was through Twilight Time (U.S.) - dubbed at an incorrect 1.78:1...

Have you seen the 3D version? Is is spectacular. They did an incredible, amazing job on that conversion.

‘Avatar 2’ Renews Push for 3D Format in Movie Theaters

Is it any wonder when people buy their TVs from Costco only to get them home and say; is this the same TV that was on display? I bought a 4K tv and swapped it right back out for my old 1080 after I realized many of the calibrations settings I wanted didn't even exist or they were locked. I cut...

‘Avatar 2’ Renews Push for 3D Format in Movie Theaters

That's so true, Ron. Pacific Rim is utterly jaw dropping on a projector system. For the sake of others that may not know, one thing that clearly has changed about the conversion process is now directors and cinematographers are actually shooting the footage with full intent of converting to 3D...

‘Avatar 2’ Renews Push for 3D Format in Movie Theaters

You may already know this but, they do make short throw projectors you can setup very close to a wall. I've seen them sitting on a table butted up to a wall.
