Blu-ray Review The Muppet Christmas Carol: 20th Anniversary Blu-ray Review

Has anyone gone back to the DVD review thread and seen if the arguments are exactly the same? http://www.hometheaterforum.com/t/224927/htf-review-the-muppet-christmas-carol-recommended-with-mixed-feelings I kind of remember last time a lot more bile was directed (by me, primarily) at Disney...

Films that need DVD Releases with their Original Aspect Ratio, anamorphic if need be!

Does anyone know if the Warner release of Rafelson's The Postman Always Rings Twice is open matte or pan and scan?

Is Jade really open matte? I thought it was pan-and-scan (it looks pan and scan) and I thought Friedkin just liked 4:3 (Sorcerer, for instance).

Warner also released The Witches open matte. Universal released Charley Varrick open matte. Isn't The Black Scorpion pan and scan?

HTF DVD REVIEW: The New World Extended Cut

I actually have the Italian release so I don't really care (I never believed the extended cut would make it so I got the Italian from Xploited a while back)--but is the digital copy PC only? i.e. me and my iMac are sol?

    MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON question

As I recall... the letterbox printing (from Pioneer?) is voluminously available. Or at least it was when I got it from Amazon new (from a seller, not Amazon.com) a few months back. For about $3.50 (plus shipping). Still haven't watched it, but hopefully soon.

WHV Announcement: The Dark Knight (DVD/Blu-ray)

All things considered, you'd think Nolan would have the muscle to say no pan and scan 4:3 release if he wanted to.

    Stupid Shield question

No... I know the 4:3 was the intended. (I have the Fox's of everything available) I was just wondering if the latest season, from Sony... if one could just zoom to a 4:3 or if I needed to get it off iTunes.

    Stupid Shield question

has anyone compared the Sony and Fox discs? I'm wondering if the 4:3 is a pan and scan of the 16:9 frame or it just cuts off the sides...

Sony in September; Gumshoe, Anderson Tapes, New Centurions and much more.

Is it possible these are going to be pan and scan? The Sony site doesn't have any aspect ratio info, neither does Amazon, neither does the press release...

    Honestly, what's the point?

I was worried about movie theaters when I moved from Chicago to Denver. At least in Chicago, I felt like there was some effort (and there were the nice theaters to go to there). Here, projection is frequently poor. I've had to get up and tell employees (no union projectionists here, no sir!) to...

Peter Benchley's "Beast" - Extended Cut finally on DVD?!!

wow... i haven't seen this since it aired. I remember reading one review that (correctly) pointed out it ripped off not just Jaws 1, but 2 and 3 as well...
