It's been officially available in Europe for over a year. Other parts of the world even longer. Also, this is a Universal film. Not a Lucasfilm-owned one (like Star Wars & Indy). Lucas does not have the final say over Howard. That said, I truly hope this isn't a hoax. I've been waiting for...
I got mine yesterday and spent most of the morning watching the first disc with my son. Wow! The prints look amazing! THIS is a perfect release and we can't wait for future volumes. Is there an e-mail I can write to thank Sony for finally getting it right?
Bluth recently said that the OAR for all his films (with the exception of Anastasia & Titan A.E.) are 4:3. Disney films included. I'll try and find that link. EDIT: From the other Secret of Nihm thread:
I remember early on when this set was in the "rumblings" phase, Jerry Beck or someone at the Golden Age Cartoons Forum had mentioned that the B&W Famous shorts would be included in Vol. 2. I might be dreaming but I'm pretty damn sure I read that on one of the animation forums.
