I have had both in house for extended viewing periods. Sharp = better black levels. Panny = noticeably better resolution for 16:9 material. Brighter picture. Arguably better colors. Much, much better performance resolution-wise on HDTV. Quieter. I would take the Panny anyday...

Are you sure that you are not just seeing edge-enhancement inherent in the source? If not, try and minimize the outlining as much as possible with your sharpness controls (use a sharpness test pattern) and be happy. Cheers Andrew B.
