So the only thing new about this Kino release, if you already have the previous Olive release, is two new commentaries? They mentioned something about a new 4K scan, but if you already have the previous release, I just don't see spending over twenty five dollars for a couple of commentaries and...
That complete set looks great but for those of us who bought it season by season, I guess we'll be deprived of the two bonus features DVDs. Thanks a lot, MPI!
Osato,
Not that I’m aware of. Who knows what the future holds? Since this thread has morphed into a Monroe/Kelly thread, many of her, Kelly’s, movies have not been released on Blu ray, much less 4k either. Maybe it’s just me, but it seems the amount of older movies getting new physical media...
What are the chances, if any, that Warner Archive will eventually release Monroe's "Prince and the Showgirl" and Kelly's "High Society" on Blu-ray? I figured that those titles would be no-brainers for them since both would be good sellers. Now that so many years have passed, would winning the...
Konstantinos,
I'm assuming you're referring to the "Forever Marilyn" set. If you can find it at a good price, you may want to go ahead and get it. At least you'll have it to watch as you are waiting for possible future 4k releases if any more do get released. Trouble is, this may be out of print...
Does anyone know if the "Marilyn Monroe Declassified" DVD/Blu-ray is worth getting? I'm not a conspiracy theorist by any means, but I do think something else could have happened to her. Just too many unanswered questions.
I'd be satisfied if Warners Archive would release "Prince and the Showgirl." That's really the only full Marilyn Monroe movie not to have a Blu-ray release. In the other unreleased (on Blu-ray) films, she more or less had only small supporting roles. I guess the one exception would be "Ladies of...
I love for it to happen too, but I'm not holding my breath. Most of the old Marilyn Monroe Blue Rays, especially Niagara, are long out of print and are going for a king's ransom on various websites. If there are any that you want or do not already have, you'd better snatch them up while you can...
Not sure if anyone else in this thread has mentioned this, but seasons 3 & 4 are also available for preorder, although a bit higher price-wise on Amazon at $29.99 each. I've not found any info about this, but I'm assuming that none of these sets have the original commercials. I was hoping they...
I too pre ordered this. Fifty dollars for two complete seasons is too good of a deal to pass up! Does anyone know if these will contain the original commercials? It would be nice if it did.
My only concern is that, if these don’t sell well, the first two seasons may be all we get, but my fingers...
For those who may be interested, eBay has a couple of those promotional General Mills Donna Reed DVDs for under ten dollars. They contain two season eight episodes, “Four on a Floor” and “No More Parties.” Since the complete season eight may never be released, this might be a good way to obtain...
LouA,
Thanks so much for the information! The Shelley Fabares CDs that I ordered were all imports so they may be the same ones. What I don't have is a couple of songs from the "Bye Bye Birdie" album (I can live without those). The only songs she recorded that I cannot find on CD are "Make Me...
Looks like this thread has been abandoned. I've been reading it for most of the day and found it quite interesting. I guess getting the final three seasons is not going to happen, in the foreseeable future anyway. Does anyone know much about the recording careers of Paul and Shelley? Shelley...
