Bond movies tend to have some reflection of their time, whether it be 60s cold war, the various and obvious genres that 70s Bond films went into.... 80s Miami Vice, 90s Micheal Bey cartoons and post 9/11 darker stuff. It will be interesting to see one though next that's not a set up or biography...
That statement explains a lot. Basically Bond movies have sucked because time moved on and it's not the 60s anymore is a brief way of explaining it. It's too bad that some want the same tired formula.
I didn't say that I didn't like 3D. I said as you quoted I'll be happy to see the gimmick end. My comment is relevant to the over use of it. The sour grapes comments don't even make any sense. Neither does the DVD analogy.
Seriously, opening it up that everything - all films are gimmicks? Come on. I don't think that's a great argument. I don't really think it's that hard to digest - some people don't want to wear glasses to see something fly at them for 2 hours, let alone pay more than the already high cost to see...
