In the last 2 years,I've bought and sold so many sets of speakers,I've lost count of the cash spent. Current speaker setup, about $4k.Cost of the wife thinking I'm nuts, priceless :)
"Any idea what 'M' is up to?"
"M" who,and where did he disappear to ? :)
Parker, reports on that vinyl to digital player have not been stellar to date. When testing was done comparing the original, the differences were pronounced.
I ended up building two simple dipole subs using the 12" drivers(front and sidewalls)
I agree about the MMGC.After many hours of fiddling with it,i finally just used an EQ on the center. Its reasonable now,but I'm looking at the CC3 :)
Congrats Gasdoc on the sub.
One thing to keep in mind when using the MMG's.Although they are rated down to 50 hz,they start to fall off at about 80 hz.
To have a balanced sound(highs, mids and bass),a sub is required to bring out their best qualities. :)
Having your front three speakers match is very important. Getting a center from the same model product line as your left and right is the correct choice. It is possible to get a center from another brand to match, but it is difficult to do,and many "experts" for go attempting it.
Brandon,
If your interested in a demo with the Maggie center,I live in Sherman Oaks :)
BTW guys, tonight,I;m headed to a Microsoft HD demo.Showing off their new technologies. :)

The loss of crystal clear highs, and muddied midrange was not worth the wider sound stage.
Imaging also seemed to suffer, although to a lesser degree then the treble.
So,I'm back to...
So,
Here I was, very happy with my Maggie HT,and I had to go read a thread over at the MUG site.
Note to self:dont read another Maggie tweak thread.(ya thats gonna work) :)
I followed the tweeters in or out thread until it peaked my interest.I've always run my Maggies ,tweeters in,7 feet...
"Achieving such should allow any FR corrections applied via EQ (assumed in the study) to have the same benefit over a number of seats, which is rarely the case with eq (correcting for the "sweet spot" can make things much worse just one seat over)." Agreed. Before my current subwoofer,I ran...
While I understand your feelings about having Maggies for music only,I must disagree.
My full Maggie HT has brought my HT experience to a new level of reality.I dont just watch movies,I'm "in" the movie.
Was it easy to reach this level? Not by a long shot.I've gone through 5...
