The window is not ideal and we had to come up with a plan to deal with it. The metal strips across the ceiling are hat channel. They were mounted to the ceiling joists with RISC clips that have large neoprene gaskets that help isolate the theater from the floor above. Two layers of drywall were used: 1/2" and 3/4". Each was installed and taped individually.
