Blue Hawaii is a beautiful time capsule of Elvis Presley and the Hawaiian Islands circa 1961. It is not hard to see why it had the highest box office receipts of any Elvis Presley film, even if it did not have particularly challenging material in its script. The video and audio presentation on this new release are nearly flawless, even if the special features are minimal. Blue Hawaii on 4K UHD is a fun confection of Elvis Presley in his prime, with some nice music and amazing scenery as a bonus. This release is one that you will certainly revisit more than once if you are really a fan of the King of Rock and Roll.
Timothy has worked background in theatrical features and television, just for the fun of it, in films directed by Peter Segal and Christopher Nolan. His favorite film star is Bugs Bunny, and Timothy has discovered that most of the problems in life can be solved successfully (strangely enough) by asking “What would Bugs Bunny do?” Timothy has been involved with the Home Theater Forum since 2007 and has reported from Comic Con, interviewed Bruce Campbell and Danny Trejo, and reviewed classic animation and new theatrical releases on disc.
