A few words about…™ The Shape of Water — in 4k UHD Blu-ray

A magnificent release. 4 Stars

I’m a huge fan of Guillermo Del Toro’s work, so please access the other piece I’m posting today.

The Shape of Water, an etherial, mystical tale falls somewhere between the old fairy tale Beauty & the Beast, and the newer one, Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Shot digitally, and completed as a 2k, DI, Fox has given us the up-rezzed version via their new 4k UHD mit HDR.

The up-rez works on every level, both visually as well as aurally, via DTS-HD MA 5.1

I’ll make no comments about the film, other than I consider it to be a must see, and appropriately, own.

Even if you’ve not yet upgraded to 4k home theater, that’s the proper way to purchase this one, enabling you to be future-proofed.

A magnificent release.

For those who may not have tuned it, this is the Academy Award Best Picture of 2017.

  1. Was it a glitch with my Blu-ray player or do they automatically turn on the subtitles on the special features with Del Toro talking? I mean the guy has an accent but it's not like you can't understand him.
