Play Misty for Me, which I believe is Mr. Eastwood’s premiere outing as director, comes to Blu-ray via
Kino, and to my eyes, it’s an okay presentation, and like Beguiled is billed as a new 2k transfer, which it may well be.
I’m just not seeing the quality.
A wonderful film, it appears to be derived from a dupe, and like Beguiled has a similar vertical hop, less than stellar resolution, and a loss of shadow detail.
Other than that, it’s a terrific film, which beautifully stands the test of time.
