A few words about…™ Libeled Lady – in Blu-ray

Highly Recommended
I was going to say that the new Blu-ray of Libeled Lady from Warner Archive, looks great for an 84 year-old production, but that sends the wrong message.
Obviously derived from superbly preserved and restored original elements, Libeled Lady looks Great.
For those unaware, this is a screwball comedy from M-G-M, with four of their top talents above the title:
Jean Harlow, William Powell, Myrna Loy and Spencer Tracy.
Ms Harlow was a unique talent, who made some interesting films once she hit her stride in the sound era around 1931 with Platinum Blonde for Columbia.
Beginning her career at M-G-M in 1932, with The Beast of the City, she made only another fourteen.
Worth a bit of research.
Gorgeous black & white imagery, lovingly reproduced.

Robert has been known in the film industry for his unmatched skill and passion in film preservation. Growing up around photography, his first home theater experience began at age ten with 16mm. Years later he was running 35 and 70mm at home.

His restoration projects have breathed new life into classic films like Lawrence of Arabia, Vertigo, My Fair Lady, Spartacus, and The Godfather series. Beyond his restoration work, he has also shared his expertise through publications, contributing to the academic discourse on film restoration. The Academy Film Archive houses the Robert A. Harris Collection, a testament to his significant contributions to film preservation.

The first reel looked far worse than the rest of the movie in the DVD. Did they use a better source for that for this restoration?

RAH,

Does the BD have Leo the Lion for the beginning film credits? He's missing on the new HBO Max stream with the opening of the movie starting with the four movie stars walking hand-to-hand, but no Leo before that.

I first saw this comedy about a decade ago on TCM. It instantly became one of my favorite comedies of all time. This is one Blu-ray to get excited about. Cheers~~
