POW Audio launches new Una portable speaker line

POW Audio has announced the launch of the first two of three products in its Una line, Bluetooth speakers promising high-output audio with portability. The Una ($100) and Una X ($150) are both designed for listening at home or outdoors.

Una and Una X use the company’s own WaveBloom technology, which POW says transforms the speaker into an expandable, air-filled chamber resulting in better resonance and sound quality. The tech also means that the speaker can be easily carried in a backpack or handbag. The product has an adjustable travel strap which can attach to backpacks for on-the-go commuters or adventure seekers, and there is an option to attach the included ‘Lily Float’ accessory for using the speaker face-up in a pool. The omni-directional driver means that sound can travel “from all sides” of the speaker. Sources are accommodated too if you’re using Apple or Android devices, and two speakers can be synced together for stereo reproduction.

“At POW Audio, we’re constantly thinking about how we can get WaveBloom to enhance the lives of as many people as possible,” POW Audio Founder, Chairman and CEO Glen Walter said. “Our answer remains consistent: Create purpose-driven innovations that not only deliver demonstrably improved audio performance, but also added value with unique functionality and real versatility. The practicality and unmatched portability of our Una line is as noteworthy as its sound. Whether it be for at-home enjoyment, the on-the-go commuter or the traveler sitting by the pool, Una and Una X offer listening experiences and convenience unlike any other in the space.”

Father and son duo, Glen and Cameron, decided to develop the WaveBloom technology, ostensibly frustrated with the clunkiness and sound of existing portable Bluetooth speakers, and which spurred them on to develop the company’s first product, the Mo Bluetooth speaker. The new Una speaker charges via a USB-C cord and is capable of 14 hours of runtime on a two-hour charge, while Una X can achieve 16 hours of playback and includes a microphone.
