Hi, my name is Patrick McCart.
My favorite film is tied between Fantasia, City Lights, A Hard Day's Night, and Singin' In The Rain.
Most overrated director: Robert Altman
Most underrated director: Richard Lester
I have no idea why The Jazz Singer is considered a classic. Except for Al Jolson being great in the film, it's lousy.
I can't say much about Kevin Costner. I haven't seen any of his films.
I have yet to see a Tom Cruise film.
I think Julia Roberts is overrated. This is coming from a native Georgian.
Edward Norton is a great actor. (Especially in Fight Club)
I haven't seen Gladiator.
I think Titanic is a GOOD epic. Not great, but still a decent piece of filmmaking.
Russell Crowe...I've only see him in A Beautiful Mind, but he was belivable in the film. That's what mattered.
Stanley Kubrick was a genius of cinema.
I haven't seen a Spike Lee film.
The best thing about Home Theater Forum is the wealth of information and opinions compiled by numerous members.

I don't seek out Julia Roberts films.
I feel about Edward Norton like I do about Tom Cruise, but more so.
I am one of the few who wanted Gladiator to win Best Picture that year.
I'm glad I saw Titanic once and on the bigscreen and might buy a SE DVD if it had a 2-hr making of documentary included.
I think Russell Crowe might be the finest actor to emerge in the past decade.
I think Stanley Kubrick is the greatest director after Hitchcock.
I've liked the two Spike Lee joints I've seen--Do the Right Thing and Malcom X--though I think he sometimes says controversial things to get extra press.
The best thing about Hometheaterforum is the people.

Hi, my name is Alex Spindler
My favorite film is Rushmore
The film I hate the most is Wing Commander (wasted potential. When the video game has better sets, special effects, costumes, actors, and story than the movie that based on it, it has real problems. Plus, they gave us Freddie Prinze Jr instead of Mark Hammil)
The director I think is most over-rated is Roger Altman
The director I think is most under-rated is Stephen Norrington (used to be Peter Jackson, but the world is now clued into his genius)
I have no idea why (no choice) is considered a "classic" film - They are classics for a reason, and I can't fault the top 100 on IMDb for their craftsmanship.

Hi, my name is ThomasC
My two favorite films (i just can't choose, consarn it!) are traffic and magnolia.
Thankfully, I don't really hate any movie I've ever seen, although I really don't care for The Lost World: Jurassic Park.
No comments on the director and classic film questions because I don't have much of an opinion on directors for the most part, and I haven't seen that many classic films.
I think Kevin Costner can act just fine. Perhaps he likes to star in a lot of critically and audience panned movies, you never know. :) I thought he was great in Thirteen Days, I hope he keeps on making good film decisions.
I think Tom Cruise is one of the best actors in Hollywood.
I think Julia Roberts can act just fine. :)
I don't think I've seen Edward Norton in any movie other than Fight Club, and even then, I've only seen about the first 30 minutes of it.
I think Gladiator is an okay movie, boring at times.
I haven't seen Titanic in its entirety...I thought the part of the movie that I saw (basically everything right before the ship starts to sink) was alright, but by no means best picture material.
I think Russell Crowe is a pretty good actor.
I haven't seen any of Stanley Kubrick's movies.
Spike Lee: see Stanley Kubrick.
The best thing about Hometheaterforum is the maturity of most of the members. I think I've matured a bit as a result, and I owe it all to the HTF.
The poster I agree/sympathize/concur with most often is...I haven't spent enough time here to really get to know one specific person's opinions on a lot of things.
I believe that Hometheaterforum is always offering something, which is a very good thing.

The director I think is most over-rated is -Ridley Scott
The director I think is most under-rated is -Victor Nunez

Kevin Costner -Okay actor with a hit & miss track record at picking films, Pretty good director
Tom Cruise -Decent actor but seems a little over praised at times
Julia Roberts -Lousy one note actress, comes across as the same person in almost every film she has ever been in
Edward Norton -Great young actor
I -despised Gladiator
I -semi-liked Titanic
Russell Crowe -Great actor, even though I don't care for his recent Hollywood films
Stanley Kubrick -Great filmmaker

The poster I agree/sympathize/concur with most often is - Off the top of my head I would have to say either Rain, Agee Bassett or John Rice (Although they can be pretty far off at times :)
I believe that Hometheaterforum is The best source of information that I actually give a damn about, on the entire web. I also like most the other dvd forums, but HTF seems to be the most versatile and well balanced of the bunch
