I have a friend who has an opportunity to purchase a used Toshiba TW40F80 from a friend of his. His friend is asking $800 for the TV. Is that a reasonable price?

PS Still in love with my Mits 55819 with the Panasonic RP91!

No, for a used RPTV of that vintage (four years ago), that is not a good price. Plus, there's the overall risk of buying a used television to begin with. Skip this particular "deal" and consider something new and fresh out of the box.
