Today I traded my beloved 3802 in at Ultimate Electronics for a brand new Pioneer vsx-45tx Elite. Once again Ultimate was great and sold it to me for $829. I also decided to go with the DV-45A Elite DVD player.
First impressions are that it is very pleasing to the eye and quite heavy. It took a little while to set up, but when I popped in Pearl Harbor I was very impressed. I heard sounds out of my rears that I never knew existed with the 3802. Japanese zeros appeared to be coming at me from all angles. The processing seems to be a pretty big step up from my Denon. I still need to use the MCACC and fine tune everything. But so far I would take the Elite over the Denon hands down.
