XBOX bundle prices (1 Viewer)

Has anyone else noticed that many of the prices for XBOX bundles don't add up to the sum of the contents? I don't know if this hold true for all retailers, but the cost of many bundles I looked at was around $10-15 more than what you would be spending if you bought the pieces separately.

This is nothing new when it comes to preordering video games. Back when the PS2 was hard to come by a local store was bundling the system with some extended warranty and the two could not be seperated.

As much as I dislike that store, compusa.com let's you get 2+ accessories as opposed to EB's choice of only 1 with a bundle. They also have the items priced individually and it all adds up at the bottom of the screen.
An Xbox, 3games, the HD-AV pack, and the DVD remote puts you at $499.94. Still less than $500.

Yup - I pre-ordered at my local EB - something about not having to worry about someone screwing up my shipment etc that I like. Also, it's much less hassle to change games with the local B & M.
Besides, am I the only one who got screwed on a PS2 pre-order? I pre-ordered mine through Express.com. Then, they got out of the game biz and cancelled all pre-orders.
Then they went under, but that's a different thread.
Still, I will never pre-order another console online.

I noticed that CompUSAnus makes you pick two first-party games, instead of the one that EB requires. That'd be a problem for me, since the only first-party game that interests me at all is "Munch's Oddysee"...
I added up the parts in my EB bundle and the price difference is like 5 bucks, so I'm not too worked up about it. It'll be worth 5 bucks to me to have it on launch day without running around town trying to find individual pieces...
