I agree with ^^ :D
Of course, any speakers except the ones *I* own are completely overpriced and suck ;)

Karen asked NOT Bose. Do the Bose threads answer her question too? Just checking, b/c I'd like to hear some thoughts without the search...

Absolutely, without a doubt, THE BEST speakers for the money are any that come from the back of a white van.

Klipsch ,B&W overpriced? I don't think so. And Polk is cheeper then both.

Infinity is THE most overpriced speaker I can think of that is not Bose.

Overpriced: too much money for the products quality.
If speaker A cost $500 and speaker B cost $500, but speaker A was much better (in all aspects) than speaker B, I'd call speaker B overpriced.
..just a general deal. I wouldn't exactly call a $5,000 speaker overpriced, because it may perform like a $5,000 speaker.

Adam, VERY VERY well said. Overpriced is a relative thing, and just like anything else, you have to pay a lot more the get a slight increase in performance (law of diminishing returns). $500 speakers can sound 85% as good as $3000 speakers, but you know what, I want that last 10-15% because this is one of MY HOBBIES, if it wasn't, I wouldn't care about owning $500 speakers.

I think that little speaker that is in my Emerson clock radio.
Man that thing absolutely has no headroom. You would think it would have a laid back, subtle, and warm sound. But no....quite the opposite...it is harsh and "tinny" sounding with very little to no soundstage. I was going to rip it apart and rebuild the guts using solid silver braided wire and installing tubes hoping for more clairity but decided against it. Instead I have decided to pre/pro the alarm and AMP it with a bridged Aragon 200WPC deal thingy.
Currently it sounds much better than my friends Bose.
:D ;) :D :b :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
