This revelation might comes as a shock to certain studios

The studios are aiming for a broad market — not just videophiles.

Translation: Look for a lot more pan-and-scan titles.

Unfortunately.

If they put a 2 min promo in front of some of the more high profile titles that actually EXPLAINED the 'black bars' a lot more people would understand.

Oh well, not gonna drag this thread off into another rant. I just don't buy any non-OAR films.

That's what Vista did in the PH Director's Cut 4 disc
DVD set.Its very good effort on Vista part to add in the
promo about OAR coz its a plus for us OAR enthusiasts.

You know, we asked every studio to consider
that option. I still don't understand why it
was never done.

As far as this article is concerned, I have
no problem with the studios putting out deluxe
2-disc sets at a more premium price.

I fully understand that while the price of DVDs
have continued to decline, it gets much more
difficult to put together Special Edition product
for a lower cost.
