It's been awhile since i've spun ol' 'Twister' on my HT, about a year and a half to be exact. Just for the hell of it today, I popped it in, the DTS mix, and let it rip!

My God what a sound mix! Posted Image This has got to be one of the most menacing and intense soundtracks ever created for a film! By far one of the finest examples of a sound mix putting you smack dab in the middle of the mayhem!

Sheer HT Perfection.

I think i'll put it back on the throne as my #1 demo dvd.

I always turn my ceiling fan on when I watch Twister (dts). It really is amazing and I bought that and the Haunting (dts) just for the sound alone. The movies themeselves are a bit dodgy.

Ha! That's pretty cool - now I wish I had a ceiling fan to try it as well! Maybe I can get one of those monster fans and run it while I watch the movie...

I've always thought 1996 was a particularly good summer for soundtracks - some all-time faves from that year. Twister remains the big daddy of them all, but Independence Day and The Rock aren't exactly slouches either. Probably some others I'm forgetting as well.

Anyway, I'd definitely put Twister in my top five all-time for soundtracks - it's up there with Saving Private Ryan, Phantom Menace, and The Haunting. When's de Bont gonna make another movie? The film itself might suck, but we need a new reference soundtrack!Posted Image

Definitely one that I trot out to blow away (pun intended) friends...

Hello all. Twister was one of my first Laserdiscs back in the day and I have loved the soundtrack ever since. However, is the new DTS mix on the DVD better than the LD track? Just a thought.
