It is from Otis Redding. The only way I can describe it that he whistles at some point of the song. It is quite famous so it should be easy...

I am actually looking for the song that came before that one, on some album I heard a long time ago, but I can't describe it. If I can spot the whistling song (which I like also), I will buy the album in the hope of catching the other one - assuming the album I heard it from was not a compilation of some sort Posted Image

Any ideas?

That's the song for sure. The album you want is called Otis Blue.

Cheers. Posted Image

Thanx guys!

Unfortunately, that song is featured many compilations like I suspected (best of, blah blah...) Posted Image

The song I am REALLY looking for will be harder to find now... I heard it when I did not speak english yet, so the only thing I remember is that the first word is "Baby!". Actually its more like "Baaaaayyyybay...". It is fast going, rock kinda thing, definitly not slow like Dock of a Bay.

The second song you're looking for sounds like "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye

I must respectfully disagree. Aside from containing the word "baby," Sexual Healing is not what I would consider a "fast going, rock kinda thing."

However, I must also correct myself as (Sitting On)The Dock of the Bay is not from Otis Blue.

Anyway, I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you buy a "Best of..." Most of his songs are terrific.

No offence intended, but I must ask: Is this a joke?

Seriously (and of course IMHO), comparing Michael Bolton (a man who sings as though he has been constipated for a week and has finally had occasion to visit the mens' room) to Otis Redding is much like comparing the latest single by Brittany Spears to the best work of the Beatles.

Of course, I am going to assume you were just kidding. Posted Image

Sort of like when Mariah Cary redid the great Nillsson song 'without you'... Nillsson died soon afterwards

Nothing wrong with Mariah as long as you keep the sound off

Rain ...I think you give Bolton way too much credit...closer to the sound of a car crash (I believe most people locked in a room with his records playing would take an icepick to their eardrums without much hesitation)

Like wise about Brittany Spears....just keep the sound off

Did you ever identify that Otis Redding Song. I just noticed this thread today and I am a huge Otis Redding fan.

I believe anyone that likes Otis Redding at all should check out the DVD Remembering Otis

When he does Try A Little Tenderness live on that video it blows my mind every time. The audience gets so excited they rush the stage at the finale!
