Claire Peploe's Rough Magic has been announced for DVD release on August 6... and according to buy.com, it will be in 1:33 fullframe (pan and scan or open matte? I don't know) format. If this is true... it will be another DVD I had been looking forward to getting, but won't purchase. ;(

I have the R2-France Rough Magic DVD. It has an beautiful anamorphic widescreen transfer as well as some very nice Russell Crowe/Bridget Fonda interviews. I highly recommend it.

The new release of Rough Magic is indeed fullframe according to the outside of the box. I didn't check this one out fully enough before ordering and now I'm stuck with this. Sigh...

Does the French R2 disc have the original English language soundtrack? Thanks.

It most certainly does. The subtitles are optional. It is an excellent DVD.
