I found I am Sam early today and was going to pick it up. I liked the movie and thought "Why the hell not?" But I looked on the back and it looks a little like this:

-Widescreen Presentation (no mention of 16x9)

Then at the bottom it says:

Widescreen Version: This film is preserved in its origianl 1.85:1 aspect ratio (or something like that)

There is no mention of the film being 16x9.

Did New Line screw up? And if they did are they going to do it again? Maybe with Blade 2?
-Hey! I know you. Tell me where it hurts.
-Right around the big bloody spot.
-I'll get the neosporine. Da na na na na NEO da na na-na-na-na-na SPORINE.
-I implore you to reconsider
-(shakes head) OK!!!

This has already been reviewed by DVDFile over a month ago and confirmed to have a transfer enhanced for 16x9 screens. There is no reason to think that New Line would do a non-anamorphic transfer for any recent theatrical release, so don't worry about Blade II, either.

Disney did the same thing with Hunchback of Notre Dame. No mention of 16x9, but it is 16x9.
