There was a similar thread on HTT a couple of months ago... Thought about starting one here also

I am an Electrical Engineering student, I will be graduating in December. I will probably go to grad school next fall with emphasis on VLSI/Digital design/Semiconductor, right now I am looking for a job to carry me until then.
So bring it on! What do you do?

I worked for 5 years in computer connector manufacturing and spent the past 2 years in the high-performance data cable industry as a production supervisor. Unfortunately, as the tech sector has fallen drastically, so has the need for high performance cables. I was part of a massive downsizing effort a month ago and am currently seeking new employment.

I work for a large cellular service provider as a Regional Technical Service Manager. Been with them for three years. Its a traveling job(by car mostly). It is the best job I have ever had, my company takes real good care of us. I love to drive and I do between 800-1100 miles a week. The cell phone is a nice perk as well!

I work in the computer industry as a "consultant" (I really hate that term). Basically I get paid to write code and sometimes architect systems. Money's good...but the market really *sucks* for techs right now, so, let's just say I'm really really happy with my job :-D
P.S., Clinton,
That's one of the best and funniest uses of the location descriptor (on the left under your name) I've seen on the forum. (I thought about putting "Playing with my" there, but realized that might've been a little too risque :))

I suppose it might be just slightly cooler to say I work "in retail," but I'm just a Kmart employee. I can work checkouts, service desk, layaway, sporting goods, electronics, pantry, health & beauty, housewares, and so on. Fun stuff.
This is all okay, because I'm still just a high school student. Surely this will count for some experience in dealing with customers somewhere along the line.

I'm the operations manager for United Devices which is a distributed computing company that's running the cancer research project right now. Kind of like SETI@HOME. It's a cool gig. I get to play with some pretty cutting edge stuff in both distributed computing and biotech. Big drawback is working 24/7. I'm doing database service pack updates in another window right now.

As of this morning, not much. Our company is not accepting any deliveries because of the events that happened yesterday. All the material was turned away, so I cleaned up for awhile, and now I'm just surfing the net.

Well...since everyone's talking about their tech jobs, I feel obliged to do the same. I USED to be a diagnostic tech for Nokia, but I quit because I hated the location. Nice job though - easy and well paid. Now I actually build tires for Continental! It's an okay job - kinda hard and very well paid. I'm also a semi-pro musician and the Vice President of a local music store. Oh, I wish I had some free time!
BTW, I'm not bragging about my pay. I just think it's amusing how a job that actually requires thought and education pays less than a glorified laborer position.

I'm a full time college student.
I'm a commercial aviation major at the university of north dakota. Yes, ND sucks as bad as you've heard/might expect.
